Joanna teaches that Shabbos is really an expression of God’s love of us. So our mindfulness practice is a Shabbos practice, learning how to sit, how to cease, and how to inhabit the inherent sufficiency that’s within us. Sylvia Boorstein teachers that the natural resting place of a heart that is unencumbered, is a place of generosity, kindness and openness. Joanna teaches that being embodied means that we are going to face some very difficult things, so we need to approach those things that arise in the heart and the mind with a sense of Awe, because that is how we approach God. This practice is about opening up to the pain and suffering that is the other part of the fabric of creation, resting within the enduring field of loving awareness.
Each Tuesday and Thursday from noon to 1:00 PM, Rabbi Jeff Roth leads an online meditation groups open to all. Jeff starts with some instructions for the day, we sit for 30 minutes and then have 10-15 minutes for questions and comments.
