The Won Dharma Retreat Center is an Open Circle of teachers and students, neighbors and visitors, young and old, from any faith to no faith, each and all of whom contribute to our commitment to reduce and eliminate suffering in the world and to provide a safe and eco-friendly space for nurturing holistic well-being and spiritual growth.

You are invited to enjoy their 426 acres of rolling hills and fields offering panoramic view of the majestic Catskill Mountains. They provide nutritious meals utilizing the freshest, natural and local ingredients – some from their own organic gardens.

By Car

  1. from Manhattan
    take the FDR North and cross Williams Bridge
    → take I-87(NYS Thruway, Albany 87). After Toll Booth continue on I-87
    → take the Taconic State Pkwy North
    drive for about one and a half hours to exit Route 23 W (Claverack)
    → take State Route 23 West. Claverack (3.6 miles)
    → make a right turn into the driveway of the Won Dharma Center
  2. from Queens & Long Island
    Cross the White Stone Bridge
    → take the Hutchinson River Parkway North (7.8 Miles)
    continue to exit 13 (Sign: Saw Mill Pkwy, Cross County Pkwy)
    → take the Cross County Pkwy West (1.5 Miles)
    continue to exit 6 North (Right) (Sign: Bronx Pkwy, Sprain Pkwy)
    → take the Sprain Pkwy & Taconic State Pkwy North (98 Miles)
    drive for about one and a half hours to exit Route 23 W (Claverack)
    → take State Route 23 West. Claverack (3.6 Miles)
    → make a right into the driveway of the Won Dharma Center
  3. from Boston, MA
    → take the Mass Turnpike West & I-90 West.
    drive for about two hours to exit B2 (Right).
    → take the Taconic State Pkwy South (16.6 Miles)
    continue to exit Route 23 W (Claverack)
    → take State Route 23 West. Claverack (3.6 Miles)
    → make a right into the driveway of the Won Dharma Center
  4. from NJ & Philadelphia, PA
    take the NJ Turnpike North
    → take the Garden State Parkway North (exit 11)
    → take I-87 North. Continue to exit 21
    → take exit 21 toward Route 23/CATSKILL/HUDSON
    Continue to Route 23B (Left)
    → merge onto Route 23 East via the ramp on the LEFT toward HUDSON (Portions toll)
    Continue to State Route 23 East (8.5 Miles)
    → turn left onto Route 23 / Route 9H (3.9 Miles)
    → turn right onto Route 23 (2.0 Miles)
    → make a left into the driveway of the Won Dharma Center

By Train (AMTRAK)

  1. From Penn Station, Manhattan to Hudson, NY

  2. From Albany-Rensselaer Station, NY to Hudson, NY

  3. From Boston, MA (South Station) to Hudson, NY
    If you are coming from Boston, you can take AMTRAK from Boston Station, MA to Albany-Rensselaer Station, NY leaving once daily at 11: 45 AM (5.5 hour ride) and then take a train to Hudson, NY. You can contact AMTRAK at 800-872-7245 or visit their website at www.amtrak.com

Taxi service is generally available at the Hudson station. We recommend that you make a reservation for the taxi, especially in the evening.
It is about a 15-minute drive from the Hudson AMTRAK Station to the Won Dharma Center.

By Bus

The Won Dharma Center is not easily accessible by bus. We recommend you take AMTRAK when you use public transportation.
If you are coming from Boston, you can take Greyhound from Boston to Albany and then get a train to Hudson, NY.
Buses leave Boston about six times a day on weekdays, from around 7:00 AM until 8:30 PM, and about five times a day on weekends from around 7:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Fares range from $38 to $50.

By Plane

The closest airport to the Won Dharma Center is the Albany International Airport in Albany. We are a forty-minute drive from Albany International Airport. A taxi from Albany International Airport to AMTRAK Rensselaer Station takes ten minutes for an 8-mile trip.

The other major airports are Newark, LaGuardia, and JFK. If you are using these airports, you can rent a car at the airport and drive to the Won Dharma Center. Travel times to/from these airports vary due to traffic and weather-related conditions, but are generally 2 hours and 40 minutes from LaGuardia, 2 hours 50 min from JFK, and 2 hours 40 min from Newark International Airport.
If you use public transportation from these airports to get to the Won Dharma Center, you can take a cab, the subway, or a train to Penn Station in Manhattan, and then take AMTRAK to Hudson, NY.
